Bail was set at $25,000 cash for James Aaron Preston, 41, accused of aggravated stalking after he reportedly made repeated threats against friends and coworkers that he would cut their heads of with a machete.

When deputies stopped his vehicle on Jan. 9, they recovered a machete behind the driver's seat.

According to the victims, Preston left multiple cell phone messages that he was on his way from Carson City to the Centerfield Bar to kill people with the weapon.

He was arrested at highways 395 and 88 shortly after midnight and jailed on a mental health hold. The machete was confiscated.

Preston is set for an arraignment Monday in East Fork Justice Court.
