The Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department's 14th annual GE Energy Family Summer Concert Series continues 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday with the Trey Stone Band. Bring a low-backed chair or blanket.
Trey Stone contributed to the dance and funk sounds of the 1970s as an instrumentalist, writer and in production of the hits, "Car Wash" by Rose Royce, "Smiling Faces" by the Undisputed Truth, "What's Bootsy Doing?" by Bootsy Collins and "Groove is in the Heart" by Dee Lite.
He was nominated for a Grammy for his work on "Kissing You" with Keith Washington, and has worked with Norman Whitfield, Jr. Walker and the All-Stars, and recently toured with Tower of Power.
Stone sings, plays guitar and keyboards, and is known for playing at South Lake Tahoe.
The concerts in the series are free to the community thanks to the Town of Minden, GE Energy, Carson Valley Inn, Dr. James the Dentist, Edgewood Tahoe Golf, Walmart, Park Place AM/PM, Starbucks, Carson Valley Medical Center, Sullivan Law and Lake Tahoe Marine.
The series continues with Mumbo Gumbo on July 30 and Big Bad Wolf on Aug. 27.
