Minden will be discussing an interlocal agreement between the town and Douglas County to wholesale water tonight at its regular monthly meeting. Also before the board is a proposal to move forward with the Main Street Event car show. The Minden Town Board meets 5:30 p.m. in the CVIC Hall.

Genoa got pea-sized hail and a pretty good soaking from a thunderstorm on Tuesday evening. I was sitting in the town board meeting and it hit a couple of times. I have no idea how much rain fell, but when it came down it was in big drops.

Douglas firefighters responded to a report of smoke behind Indian Hills at 6:43 p.m. Tuesday, but came up empty. There was a report of a wildfire near Burnside Road and Picket's Junction in Alpine County at 5:48 p.m. It didn't turn out to be much either.

Expect more of the same today with showers and isolated thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Skies should be partly cloudy today with a high near 90. The chance of precipitation is 20 percent. The fire weather watch has been lifted.
