An Indian Hills couple accused of leaving their 4-year-old and infant sons home alone were released from Douglas County Jail on Wednesday and ordered back to court July 14 on child endangerment charges.

East Fork Justice Jim EnEarl released Raquel Iquado, 34, and Jaime Garcia-Vazquez, 33, on their own recognizance and ordered to them cooperate with Child Protective Services which has custody of the children.

The pair was arrested June 28 after the 4-year-old showed up at a neighbor's at 6 a.m. crying and wearing only a diaper. The infant was found in his crib at the residence.

The children had been alone since Garcia-Vazquez left for work at 5:30 a.m. He told deputies the believed Iquado's 13-year-old daughter was at the apartment when he left but she turned up at a friend's house.

Iquado told deputies she and Garcia-Vazquez were arguing the night before and she left to spend the night at her sister-in-law's. She said Garcia-Vazquez and her daughter were at the residence when she left.

The couple was each charged with two gross misdemeanor counts of child endangerment.
