Report of wildfire on Kingsbury Grade

Firefighters are responding to reports of a wildfire on Kingsbury Grade about a mile up Genoa Peak Road.

The fire is estimated to be a tenth of an acre, said U.S. Forest Service fire chief Kit Bailey.

It is not near any structures, said Mark Novak, the fire marshal for the Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District.

The fire is burning "lazily," according to police scanner traffic.

Three engines and a hand crew from Tahoe Douglas are responding in addition to two engines from the U.S. Forest Service.

A cause of the fire has not been determined yet. Investigators are on the scene.
