The first service at Valley Christian Fellowship's new location is 10 a.m. Sunday, at 811 Short Court, next to the Pizza Factory in the Gardnerville Ranchos.
The church has held Sunday services at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School, and according to Senior Pastor Leo Kruger, this will be the last move before their own church is built on Centerville Road.
"Many people remember us as the church in the old Meadowdale Theater next to the Gardnerville post office," said Kruger. "We realized it was time to buy our property and the Lord led us to buy property in the Ranchos area, where most of our congregation lives."
The church bought 5.5 acres as the site for their new facility between Centerville Road and Drayton Boulevard in 2009.
"The new sanctuary will seat about 250, and we have five separate areas for the children's ministry classes," said Kruger. "The really big thing is our outreach to the Ranchos community, but we're excited about all the aspects of the new location."
Valley Christian Fellowship is a nondenominational church with about 200 worshipers on Sundays, with about 450 people considering themselves members. Sunday service is at 10 a.m., with Wednesday service at 7 p.m.
The church offices are in the Tillman Center next to Silver Strike Lanes. Information, www.valleycf.org or 265-4100.
