A 39-year-old man wanted in Douglas County on charges of battery with a deadly weapon and burglary was arrested July 9 in Carson City after deputies found him hiding in a woman's apartment.

Keith Watrous was found behind the refrigerator at the West College Parkway residence of Angie Gray, 44.

A warrant was issued from East Fork Justice Court for Watrous' arrest on June 25.

He was accused of entering the Johnson Lane home of his ex-girlfriend where he reportedly became involved in a fight with Tom Warne, 37. Watrous allegedly struck Warne on the head with a flashlight.

The woman told deputies she stabbed Watrous with a kitchen knife to get him to stop hitting Warne.

Watrous allegedly drove off in the woman's vehicle without her permission to Carson City. He was taken by helicopter to Renown Regional Medical Center for a single stab wound to the back.

He disappeared after he was released from the hospital.

She was charged with harboring a fugitive.

Gray reportedly denied that anyone was inside, but the deputy could hear what sounded like several individuals.

Once Watrous was apprehended, Gray told the deputy she knew Watrous was inside and had warrants, but she didn't want him to go to jail.

Watrous also was charged with violation of a suspended sentence out of Carson City.

His total bail is $13,000 cash.
