Suspicious tub contained clothing, kids' items

A suspicious-looking plastic tub found on a Gardnerville Ranchos street turned out to contain clothing and children's items.

A neighbor in the 1300 block of Bolivia Way called the Douglas County Sheriff's Office at 7 p.m. Sunday to report a gray storage tub in front of a residence.

The fact there were no vehicles or persons near the item prompted deputies to contact the Tahoe-Douglas Explosive Ordnance Demolition unit which determined the container was nonthreatening.

Deputies blocked access to Bolivia Way at Franklin Avenue and Manhattan Drive while inspecting the item.

The tub contained clothing and children's items and was booked into evidence as the owner was unknown.
