TOAD presents "Once Upon A Mattress (G2K)" starring the youth of Carson Valley (ages 6-12 years old), 7 p.m. July 30, July 31, Aug. 6 and Aug. 7, and 2 p.m. Aug. 1 and Aug. 8 at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School, 701 Long Valley Road, Gardnerville Ranchos.
"Once Upon A Mattress (G2K)" is a spin on "The Princess and The Pea," the classic story of royal courtship and comeuppance. "G2K" refers to the "Getting To Know" series of musicals adapted specifically for youth performers.
Chances are, you'll never look at fairy tales quite the same way again. Did you know that Princess Winnifred actually swam the moat to reach Prince Dauntless the Drab? Or that it may not have been the pea at all that caused the princess a sleepless night?
