An autopsy was conducted Tuesday on the body of a 23-year-old woman found dead in a Carson City jail holding cell Sunday morning.
Carson City Sheriff's Capt. Ken Sandage the autopsy was conducted in the morning and that a few more tests were to be run Tuesday evening. Toxicology test results will likely take several weeks, he said.
"We won't have a cause of death for three or four weeks," Sandage said.
The woman, Kimberly Wood of Gardnerville, was arrested Saturday night on a warrant out of Lyon County for speeding. Police had responded to a domestic dispute involving Wood, but would not have been arrested except for the warrant, Sheriff Kenny Furlong said.
Furlong said Wood had been treated for a medical condition at a Reno hospital earlier Saturday.
He said the early Sunday morning jail staff had checked on her to ask if she wanted breakfast. When staff returned, the woman was dead.
