The Carson Valley Chapter of Women Entrepreneurs of The World is holding its monthly group meeting 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden.

The group meets on the fourth Thursday each month for networking, lunch and a guest speaker.

This month's speaker is Cathy Gillespie, owner of Catzeye Graphics. Gillespie will give a presentation titled, "Flyer Design 101," providing tips for how to design more professional looking flyers right from your home or office computer.

As a sales and marketing professional for more than 20 years, Gillespie began her career in 1989 in the marketing department of Bear Mountain Ski Resort in southern California.

She relocated to Tahoe in 1992 to work for the Incline Village General Improvement District doing sales and marketing for Diamond Peak Ski Resort, as well as the town's golf and recreation facilities.

In 1996, Gillespie narrowed her focus to the graphic design end of marketing, with stints designing in the corporate world for real estate speakers, a software developer, an international casino group, numerous churches, and a national network marketing company.

In 2007, Gillespie turned her then 10-year-old part-time business - Catzeye Graphics - into a full time business endeavor.

Today, her client list includes massage therapists, estheticians, chiropractors, insurance agents, merchant account providers, retailers, CPAs, motivational speakers, magazine publishers, lawyers and mediators, among many others.

She is also the current designer for Nevada Day 2010.

Monthly WE meetings are open for all to attend. Cost is $15 for WE members, $20 for guests.

Women Entrepreneurs of the World believes that networking doesn't have to be expensive to be effective.

The mission of WE is to help build personal and professional success for its members through networking opportunities, local rallies and regional conferences, equitable relationship development, think-tank mastermind groups, a progressive mentor program, and an assistance program for start-up businesses from concept to funding.
