Strong thunderstorm cell hits Genoa

A cell of strong thunderstorms is moving north along the Carson Range, according to the National Weather Service.

At 5 p.m. meteorologists were tracking strong thunderstorms near Genoa moving north at about 20 mph.

Rainfall amounts of about a half inch an hour and occasional lightning strikes along the range.

Genoa, Glenbrook and Lakeview are expected to be affected by the cell.

Hikers and campers are advised to seek shelter in a vehicle.
