Rocks and mud are sliding out of the Carson Range onto Foothill road after more than an inch of rain fell in Carson Valley this afternoon.
Rain and hail fell between 1 and 2 p.m., as gutters filled up with storm water.
The National Weather Service issued two special weather statements for Carson Valley, one at 1:13 p.m. for central Carson Valley and another at 2:30 p.m. near Genoa.
Hail the size of a quarter was reported falling in Genoa during a second cloudburst.
A branch was reported down on Spruce Street in Genoa.
There was a report of smoke about a mile east of Spooner Summit.
