A Gardnerville man is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court today for arraignment on charges he inappropriately touched a 15 year old girl while giving her a tattoo. Levi Wood-Duran, 23, is not a licensed tattooist, nor did he have permission from the girls' parents. He's being held in Douglas County District Jail.

Officially, 1.3 inches of rain fell in the Foothills southwest of Gardnerville on Monday. That, and the half-inch diameter hail reported by two different weather spotters, made the stretch from Sheridan to Jacks Valley a very interesting place to be. Monday night, when I was coming home through Genoa, shredded leaves lined the streets. There were still some piles of hail frozen near the post office. In Minden, .46 inches of rain fell during Monday's deluge, according to The Record-Courier's weather watcher.

Today's weather shouldn't be nearly so exciting, with isolated showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Expect the high to hit 89, with a 10 percent chance of isolated showers. Not much wind to speak of, except around the thunderstorms.
