Students raise funds and awareness for cystic fibrosis

Carson Valley Middle School hosted a walk to raise funds for cystic fibrosis research in honor of eighth-grader Brady Scilingo who died from the disease in February. Pictured are CVMS eighth-graders, and Brady's friends, Alex Morin, Mollee Montean, Casey Connolly, Camry Varble, Jesse Bullock, Tia Lutz, Jackie Johnson and Carly Talia with Brady's parents John and Kelly Scilingo. About 100 people participated in the 3-mile walk and more than $2,800 was raised for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The event was spearheaded by Brady's friends, the school leadership class and the Make a Difference Club.
