Two people were killed in a head-on accident on Highway 395 south of the June Lake Loop in Mono County late Monday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 1999 Mercury driven north by a 27-year-old Long Beach, Calif., resident crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 1979 Mercedes being driven by a 34-year-old Vancouver, British Columbia, resident.
Both drivers were killed in the 10:50 p.m. accident.
A 35-year-old passenger in the Mercedes was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
The highway was closed for 90 minutes, reopening at 12:30 a.m.
