Crafts fair weekend

The 26th annual Minden Spring Arts and Crafts Fair is 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on Esmeralda Avenue. Crafts, food, beverages and music by Sound Bytes. Sponsored by Town of Minden. Information, Roxanne Stangle, 782-2444.


Summer fun dance Saturday

Douglas County Senior Center hosts the Community Summer Fun Dance, 7-10 p.m. Saturday, at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, 920 Dump Road, Gardnerville. Music by Don & Nadine, 50/50 raffle, door prizes. Refreshments available for purchase. Cost, $5. Singles and couples welcome. Information, Amanda Reid, 783-6455.


Parks & rec summer camp

Enrollment is open for Douglas County Parks & Recreation's 2010 Summer Adventure Camp beginning Monday. Students in first-sixth grades participate in field trips, games, art and crafts. Sessions run through July 9 at Jacks Valley and Minden elementary schools, and July 12-Aug. 17 at Pinon Hills and Meneley elementary schools. Cost is $22 per day. Farmers markets open for season

The Minden Farmers Market is 4-7 p.m. Tuesdays through September on Esmeralda Avenue. Fresh produce, baked goods, dinners and music. Information, Roxanne Stangle, 782-2444.

The Lampe Park Farmers Market is 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays at Lampe Park in Gardnerville. Fruit and vegetables, baked goods, honey, plants, art, flowers, and outdoor furniture. Information, Douglas County Parks & Recreation Division, dcparksrecreation.co.douglas.nv.us or 782-9828.


Museum lecture Thursday

Frank Ackerman talks about the history of railroads in Nevada at the Douglas County Historical Society's lecture of the month, 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville. Ackerman talks about train robberies and the moving of gold and silver from mines to shipping areas. Admission $3, free for historical society members. Information, 782-2555.


Sign up for Bible school
