A memorial service was in Idaho for former Douglas County resident and native Nevadan Avryl Murlyne Monson, 49, who was killed May 14, 2010, in a Kooskia, Idaho, automobile accident.
Born March 15, 1961, in Carson City to Rochelle Jobe and Derald Monson, she grew up in the Reno-Tahoe area.
She married Robert Taylor, with whom she had three children.
While living in the Gardnerville area, she worked at Juanita's Cantina in Holbrook Junction, which was owned by her mother and Harley Jobe. She served as an emergency medical technician with the Topaz Volunteer Fire Department before moving to Kooskia eight years ago to be closer to family.
She was creative and became adept at framing artwork. She loved native culture and spent much time studying it. She developed a great affinity for the Nez Perce Tribe and lived on reservation lands.
She was baptized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1969.
She is survived by son Marshall Taylor; daughters Mirinda Taylor and Ashley Taylor; parents Rochelle and Harley Jobe, Derald Monson; brothers Dana Monson and Kelly Noyes; sisters Murlyne Eblen, Alana Reid, Katherine Noyes and Shari Noyes; granddaughter Lexie Lycan; 13 nieces and nephews; one great niece and one great nephew.
A memorial service was May 30. Cremation was May 27 at Trenary Funeral Home, Kooskia, Idaho. Friends may send condolences to 938 Red Fir Road, Kooskia, ID 83539.
