Tickets for the Town of Genoa's 4th of July chicken barbecue are on sale in the town office through July 2. Cost of $12 includes half a barbecued chicken, coleslaw, baked potato, roll, butter and sour cream. Dinners will be served from noon to 6 p.m July 4 at the Genoa Volunteer Fire Department. The barbecue is held in conjunction with the annual Pops in the Park Sierra Philharmonic concert and celebration in the Mormon Station Historic State Park. Entertainment begins at 1 p.m. Concert begins at 4:15 p.m. Call or stop by the Town of Genoa office to buy chicken dinner tickets, 782-8696.
