Valley Soroptimists offer service grants

Soroptimist International of Carson Valley is accepting requests for funding for community service projects that particularly benefit women and children. Apply by July 31. Funding will be awarded in October.

Soroptimists fundraisers include Abbey Crossing Women's Shelter, Family Support Council, Douglas County Senior Center, Soroptimist of the Americas Women Opportunity Award, Trick or Treat Safety Street, A Fighting Chance, Project Santa Claus, Carson River Work Day, Purple Ribbon Coalition, Carson-Tahoe Cancer Center, Boys & Girls Club, and student scholarships, achievement awards and luncheons.
