Volunteers are working on the Tahoe Rim Trail 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays through June 29.
Work on at Van Sickle State Park behind Harrah's is Tuesday. Volunteers will then move onto the Kingsbury North Trailhead on Saturday.
This is the second trail building season of the multi-year Daggett Summit project, which will connect the Tahoe Rim Trail with the Van Sickle State Park, re-route the Tahoe Rim Trail off of paved roads, and provide views of Lake Tahoe. Last year volunteers built 3.8 miles of new trail; however there are still more than nine miles to go
Volunteers should bring there own lunch and water, wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants, boots, and work gloves, and bring sunscreen, bug spray, water and a backpack. The Tahoe Rim Trail Association will provide hard hats, trail building tools and expert crew leaders.
