It takes a community to put on a great event like Carson Valley Days, but the folks on point are the handful of Active 20-30 Club members who lead the way.
While we bet the centennial celebration will be remembered for the fireworks and the barbecue, we know that the planning and labor provided by the club was the engine that drove the event's success.
The Active 20-30 Club has been involved in every event since 1938, and while there was a big gap early on thanks largely to World War II, they've represented every year that the parade and party took place.
Bringing back the barbecue from the past was a great idea, though we're sure a substantial increase in the club's workload.
And the fireworks were a great touch, providing something that residents haven't had in the Valley in recent memory.
We offer our thanks to the members of the Active 20-30 Club for all their hard work this weekend, and to everyone who turned out to celebrate our beautiful Valley.
