A memorial service was June 9 at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Gardnerville for Nevada native Ahmen L. Philips-LeDoux, 16, who died June 6, 2010, at his home.
Born July 20, 1993, to Michael Philips and Judith LeDoux, he was a student at Douglas High School and at Western Nevada College, where he majored in mathematics and minored in psychology. His interests included physics, music, guitar, and dirtbike riding.
He was a Life Scout in Boy Scout Troop 340, where he made many friends.
"Ahmen had a gentle, kind, and loving spirit whose love and compassion held no boundaries to all that he loved, both family and friends," his mother said.
He is survived by his parents; grandparents William Philips, Velma Heaters, Carol Rosson; siblings Mike (Kristle) Philips Jr., Jamie Lehman, Hannah (Mike) McIntosh, Rose (Kai) Liao and Collin Philips; aunt Lynn Cauley; cousin Shane Cauley; and many others including nieces and nephews.
