The Douglas County Genealogy Group hosts a series of free workshops on how to start genealogy research beginning with "Where to Start" presented by Doris Bennet, 1 p.m. July 1, at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville Next in the series is "Look at What You Have" presented by John and Janie Ryland on July 15, "Where to Find Vital Records" by Brenda Ball on Aug. 5, and "Recording Your Data" by Debbie Weisend on Aug. 19.
