Ignorant are easy to control

EDITOR:

Sometimes I wonder if our elected officials are cutting back funding for education because they know that ignorant people are easier to manipulate and control.

Consequently people in low paying jobs, due to lack of education, are too busy trying to survive to ask questions.

Therefore they can be convinced by just a smile or a false promise.

Personally I have often felt that I was happier dumb before I earned by two-year degree at Western Nevada Community College in 1999 and begun to question what was happening around me.

Education opened my eyes as to the many ways I was being manipulated. It also created anger within me toward others who foolishly allowed our current situation to begin and grow through their foolish choice of leaders.

In my opinion not selecting Jim Gibbons to run for a second term as governor was a smart move.

Electing Rory Reid as our next governor is an even smarter move in the right direction.
