Blessing of the boats June 27 at Camp Richardson

The South Lake Tahoe Yacht Club's annual Blessing of the Boats is Sunday at Camp Richardson Marina. Club members will organize boats 9:45 a.m. in the Tahoe Keys homeowners' cove, then proceed to Camp Richardson Marina for the blessing by club member Father Grace. Members of the public wanting their boats blessed are invited to join the end of the line as it passes through the mouth of the Keys.

A yacht club membership drive is 1-4 p.m. at the Yacht Clubhouse in the old boathouse next to the Beacon, at the Camp Richardson Marina. Appetizers, soft drinks, coffee and tea provided.

The South Lake Tahoe Yacht Club's new book, "Our Favorite Recipes," will be available for $20. Proceeds benefit CASA, Boys & Girls Club, and the Women's Center. The books are available at Top Drawer Gift Shop in the Raley's Center at Stateline, and Lakeside Landing ll at 4039 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Information, Commodore Jeff Williams, (530) 542-158.
