The Tumbleweeds Gymnastics trampoline and tumbling team put on a successful showing at the recent California/Nevada State Championships, producing four gold medalists and qualifying six athletes for the national championships next week in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

There were also four silver medalists and three bronze medalists.

Of the seven qualifiers, only three will be making the trip - Lyndsey Adams (trampoline, double-mini trampoline), Kailey Jacobs (tumbling, trampoline, double-mini trampoline) and Macey Creek (trampoline, double-mini trampoline).

Adams, Jacobs, Michael Gardner and Julie Edmunds all won gold medals at the state championships while Kelsey Bradley hauled in a number of silver medals.

There were more than 200 athletes competing in the state championships, but there will be more than 1,800 at the national meet.

"It's a very big deal," Tumbleweeds coach George Hery said. "To get to that level is really something.

"We'ree see what happens. It's been a very successful program this year for the kids involved. They've worked very hard and the results show it."
