The Gardnerville Ranchos General Improvement District will commence with the 2010 Street Improvement Project on July 6.
Notices are being passed out to the residents of James Road, which will be overlaid with drainage improvements and the installation of a speed control device.
Other streets are listed on the district's Web site at www.grgid.com. Granite Construction will be constructing the project.
The Bowles Lane water project will commence on July 6 also. Peak Construction will work on the waterline project. Both projects should be complete by the end of summer.
On a side note, the district is one signature away from securing Question No. 1 monies to construct the fishing pond at Mitch Park.
Upon signing of contracts, the district will hold a community meeting to discuss the construction of the pond and its amenities.
The district is hoping to start construction in late summer. The project will take approximately 18 months to complete.
