Lakes celebrate 61st anniversary

Jack and Jeanneane Lake of Gardnerville will celebrate their 61st wedding anniversary Thursday.

The Lakes were high school sweethearts at Ninnekah High School in Oklahoma and were married March 4, 1949. They owned a photography studio in Duncan, Okla., in the 1950s and Jack Lake was a civilian photographer for the Army Signal Corps in 1958-60.

Jeanneane Lake was accounting manager for Lakeland Village Resort in South Lake Tahoe for 20 years and worked in accounting for the Ridge Tahoe before retiring in 2000.

Jack Lake has been a real estate broker for 34 years and operates the Lake Realty office in S. Lake Tahoe.

The couple's children are Linda Noble of Gilroy, Calif., Carol Lake-Johnson of Gardnerville, and the late Carl Lake of Oklahoma City. The Lakes have five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The Lakes will celebrate their anniversary with a family dinner at home.
