The National Weather Service is sticking to its guns this morning that we could have snow in the Valley floor by this afternoon. While the skies are pretty clear this morning, there's a big burst of energy on the other side of the hill stretching from Santa Cruz to Mount Shasta. It's trending a bit northeast so we may only see the southernmost portion of it. The storm is just now hitting the west slope of the Sierra.
The weather graph says we could have up to 2 inches of snow between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m., or we could have what we had yesterday, which is nothing. I expect we'll hit the high of 49 early in the day if it really does snow. Right now it's 32 degrees in Genoa.
Minden may be hiring a manager tonight at the town's regular 6 p.m. meeting. There's a lot on the agenda, including a request by the Clerk's office to use the CVIC Hall for early voting in 2012 and a request from the Carson Valley Reforestation Project for more trees along highways 395 and 88. Minden Town Board members meet in the CVIC Hall.
