Northern 4A coaches recently released their all-region and all-league teams for the 2009-10 winter sports season.
In basketball, all first-team all-leaguers were automatically put on the all-region team while the respective league players and coaches of the year shared the regional award.
The Douglas boys' squad had guards Chris Downs and Austin Neddenriep earn first-team All-Sierra League and All-Northern 4A honors.
Forwards Jorey Scott and Matt Thomas were second-team honorees and freshman forward Hunter Myers was an honorable mention selection.
Manogue's Bobby Hunter was named the Sierra League Player of the Year and Carson High's Bruce Barnes was the Sierra League Coach of the Year.
Other first-teamers included Niles Lujan and Sutter Childs from Manogue, Andrew Johnson and Brian Barnes from Carson and Ryan Dougherty from Galena.
On the girls' side, senior forward Ne'Jae Jackson was a first-team all-league and all-region pick and sophomore Katie Dry was an honorable mention.
Galena swept the individual awards with Emily Burns winning Player of the Year and Karen Friel winning Coach of the Year.
The remainder of the first team was Hayley Jensen and Taylor Schaller of Galena, Gabby Concepcion and Katie Gray of Manogue, Gina Bianchi of Carson and Sara Parsons of Fallon.
In wrestling, Douglas' Dillon Spates earned first-team all-region honors as a 125-pounder, Mike Sepulveda was a first-teamer at 130 pounds and Patrick Miller also earned first-team status at 215 pounds.
Zach Falanga was a second-teamer at 189 pounds.
Todd Pearson of Spanish Springs was the lower weights Wrestler of the Year, Carson's Nick Schalger was the middleweight Wrestler of the Year and Manogue's Gary Albright was the upperweight Wrestler of the Year.
