County commissioners heard the first public reaction to the water company consolidation plan on Thursday. We'll have more on that later in the day. The next step is to take the presentation up to Tahoe on March 18.

The first week of election filing wraps up today. On Thursday, former Douglas High School Principal Charlie Condron filed for Minden Town Board, forcing the first race on that board I've ever seen. Genoa Town Board Chairman Brian Williams became the first person to file on that board. Shannon Harris became the fifth person to file for East Fork Swimming Pool Board. Brad Newlon filed for Gardnerville Ranchos Improvement District. Election filing continues through March 12.

It's supposed to cloud up today with a slight chance of showers tonight and then a chance of rain or snow showers on Saturday before 10 a.m. The weather guys are calling this one a little less exuberantly. Heavenly got 14 inches of snow from the last storm. Up on Ebbett's Pass the telemetry says 15 inches of snow fell, though it only had 1.1 inches of moisture in it. One sunny day dropped the snow depth 5 inches to 100, but concentrated the moisture content to 31.9"

There are no road restrictions out there this morning and only a little road construction. The skies are clear and the temperature is a chilly 24 degrees up on the bench in Genoa. Don't expect much in the way of weather until after 4 p.m., and then not much. At least it's not supposed to be windy.
