Staff Reports

The Carson Valley Chapter of Women Entrepreneurs of the World monthly meeting is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 25 at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden. The group meets monthly for networking, lunch and a guest speaker.

This months speaker is Mary Bittner, RN, BSN, MPA , and vice president of nursing services at Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., who speaks on "Creating a Positive Business Environment."

Bittner served 31 years in leadership positions within acute health care operations during her 37-year nursing career, and has experienced cycles of workforce shortages and economic downturns within the industry.

Prior to her relocation to Lake Tahoe, Bittner held several executive nursing leadership positions in Southern California. Her experience at large and smaller health care facilities has served as background for working in the rural health care environment. She serves as a trustee on the Barton Foundation Board of Directors and is a member of the Association of California Nurse Leaders.

Monthly WE meetings are open for all to attend this fast-growing group of local business professionals. Cost is $15 for WE members, $20 for guests. RSVPs are requested by March 18. Pay by credit card at www.weoftheworld.com/carson-valley. Those who wish to pay at the door (cash or check only), should RSVP to carsonvalley@weoftheworld.com, and are asked to put RSVP in the subject line, and their name in the body of the e-mail.

Women Entrepreneurs of the World believes that networking doesn't have to be expensive to be effective. The mission of WE is to help build personal and professional success for its members through focused networking opportunities, local rallies and regional conferences, equitable relationship development, think-tank mastermind groups, a progressive mentor program, and an assistance program for start-up businesses from concept to funding.
