Have you ever asked your teen what they were thinking when they made a really bad judgment call?
Have you ever wondered how a person can become so desperate that they would want to end their life? Or what signs you might see that would alert you the person might be that desperate?
All these questions and more will be explored at the second annual parent symposium to be held at Douglas High School 5-9 p.m. April 14.
Parents of children of all ages are invited to attend this event, as the issues raised are important for all parents to learn about, regardless of the age of your child. Breakout sessions planned are suicide prevention, teen choices and a youth panel.
This event, sponsored by the Douglas County School District and the Partnership of Community Resources, will also feature more than 20 informational and interactive booths for parents of students of all ages to visit. These booths will cover a variety of topics ranging from Internet safety to mentoring to the armed forces.
