It's a 'we' problem

Our nation has a problem, and the problem is "we." We buy a large fancy house with no money down. We owe tens of thousands in car loans and on our credit cards. When we can't pay for our over spending we expect the government to bail us out and our neighbors to feel sorry for us. We complain about high food prices while we shove quarters into slot machines. We allow our kids to quit school to become parasites on the nation. We let our kids join gangs and we simply say "it is just their friends." We don't seem to care that we fully support millions of fatherless children. We send our youth off to war but don't show up to welcome them home. We treat our prisoners better than we treat our soldiers. We don't care that the child born this morning already owes the Chinese $40,000 to pay for the nations over spending. We allow our elected officials to give special treatment to a couple of tax supported sacred cow groups who use scare tactics to get what they want. We are more concerned about who will win the Super Bowl than our neighbors and parents. I do not believe our founding fathers had this in mind when they took pen in hand and began our nation with, "We the people ..."
