Western Nevada College nursing students along with the Food Bank of Northern

Nevada and the Carson SPCA will be hosting a food drive for people and pets.

Tracy Hildman said the students were looking for a cause for their senior

leadership project, and saw on the news that the food bank had a low supply

of food available for our community.

³We decided to get the SPCA involved when we saw another news report where

the SPCA was providing pet food to families that could no longer afford it,

but did not want to give up their pets,² she said. ³This is a cause that we

have become very passionate about. We will be collecting non-perishable food

at the locations listed.²

They will also be participating in an event along with the Carson SPCA at

Petsmart on Fairview in Carson City on 11 a.m. -4 p.m. Thursday. Visitors

may drop off people and pet food, meet some pets that need a home, and meet

some future nurses.

People food donatons are being collected at Ironwood Theater; 1760 Highway

395 in Minden; Lira¹s Supermarket, 1681 Lucerne St. in Minden; Scolari¹s

Supermarket, 1329 Highway 395 in Gardnerville; Blockbuster, 1323 Highway 395

in Gardnerville; Carson Valley Inn (business office), 1627 Highway 395 in
