Staff Reports
Austin's House has been privileged to serve a lot of children in the last six months. The pantry of food and household items is pretty low. Any donation, large or small, will be greatly appreciated.
Some of the food items needed are whole frozen turkey breast, lean frozen ground beef, pasta sauce and pasta, boxed macaroni and cheese, canned fruit in light syrup, cereal: Chex, Cheerios, Raisin Bran and Honey Bunches of Oats, crackers, creamy peanut butter, jelly and jam, individually packaged trail mix, microwave light popcorn, snack bars like Kudos and Nutrigrain and boxed cookie, brownie or muffin baking mixes.
Household supplies needed are quart and gallon Ziploc bags, paper towels, toilet paper, facial tissues, shampoo and conditioner, small hairbrushes, computer paper, Clorox, Lysol or other disinfectant wipes, paper napkins, dishwashing soap, dishwasher soap and laundry detergent.
Donations may be dropped off 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at Austin's House, 3589 North Sunridge Dr., a mile east of the intersection of Highway 395 and Jacks Valley Road. It is behind the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Substation. If you can't make the drop off times, they will try to make arrangements to pick up your donation.

These children have no place else to go. Austin's House provides the basic living necessities including proper nutrition, hygiene, rest, nurturing, recreation, companionship, education and life skills training. Austin's House has cared for more than 100 children since opening in September 2007.
Austin's House relies donations from individuals and organizations who care about the welfare of children. Information about making donations to Austin's House at www.austinshouse.org or 267-6711.
