Hike for Health events begin April 22

The Carson Valley Trails Association's fourth annual Hike for Health fundraiser for the Genoa Foothill Trail System project begins with an auction event, 5-8 p.m. April 22 at the Genoa Town Hall. The Trails Challenge kicks off April 22 and concludes with a family barbecue at Lampe Park in Gardnerville on May 23.

The April 22 fundraiser includes silent and live auctions, live music by Genoa's Foothill Road, refreshments and a no-host bar. The event is free and open to the public. No tickets or reservations are needed.

The Trails Challenge offers the opportunity to engage in healthy, outdoor activities and learn about trails in the Carson Valley area. Participants can sign up to hike, walk, jog, run or ride. Weekly guided hikes, walks and trail adventures begin April 24 and continue through May 22. Registration is $25 for adults, free for age 17 and younger.
