Kingsbury reopens after being closed for accidents

Several minor accidents on Kingsbury Grade closed of the main route between Carson Valley and Lake Tahoe for an hour this morning.

The Nevada Department of Transportation closed Kingsbury at Foothill Road and at Highway 50 at 7:31 a.m., according to the Web site. The road reopened at about 8:30 a.m.

Two accidents set off a series of multiple vehicle fenderbenders that resulted in the road being closed by Douglas County deputies at about 7:15 a.m.

One person was transported after being unable to move with neck pain in an accident at Buchannan Road. The accident was reported at 7:14 a.m. A non-injury accident occurred further down the grade at 6:26 a.m.

Douglas County deputies report there were several small accidents spread between Buchannan and Highland.

Chains or snow tires are being required over the grade this morning.
