There's a winter weather advisory in effect until 1 p.m. for the Tahoe Basin today. According to hazardous weather statement issued at 6:15 a.m., an area of snow will move through the Tahoe basin with accumulations of 3-7 inches at Lake level and 5-9 inches above 7,000 feet. Expect a repeat of Tuesday's action on Kingsbury before the snow tapers off.

Tuesday's storm gave the snow pack a little shot in the arm, dropping 6 inches of snow at Ebbetts Pass in the Upper Carson River Basin and not quite .6 inches of moisture. The Carson River basin is at 90 percent of average snow pack for the year, according to the Natural Resources Conservation Service daily report. Today is the last day the snow pack is measured for the winter water supply.

Work to widen Highway 395 north to three lanes between North Sunridge Drive and Old Clear Creek Road is scheduled to begin in April. As part of the work, Topsy Lane will be widened and raised to match the wider highway.
