It's going to be a windy week, starting today with gusts of 5-10 mph increasing to 15-20 mph. Gusts will be up to 35 mph through tonight and Tuesday as a cold front rolls through Western Nevada. The front is dry as a bone, so it'll just bring cooler temperatures in the middle of the week, with highs dropping into the low 60s.

The National Weather Service hasn't filled in its monthly precipitation chart yet, but I can put a few numbers in the blanks. Ebbetts Pass averages 4.61 inches of precipitation in April. This April it received 8.8 inches of precipitation, ending the month at 49.9 inches, which is an inch better than 100 percent for the year at this time.

The investment discussion group meets 10 a.m. today in the ceramics room of the Douglas County Senior Center in Gardnerville.

Today is going to be warm and breezy, with a high of 75 degrees. There's a lake wind advisory for Tahoe starting at 2 p.m. and lasting into the evening. Expect wave heights of up to 4 feet on the northern and eastern sections of the Lake. The Weather Service is advising that small boats should stay off the Lake.
