Singers wanted for Carson Chamber

The Carson Chamber Singers, conducted by Judy Monson, present their annual Pops Party concert, 3 p.m. June 13 at the Governor's Mansion. The group has immediate openings for tenors and basses. Rehearsals are 7 p.m. Tuesdays at First United Methodist Church in Carson City.

For the Pops Party concert, the singers perform a program of American music including "Ragtime Song!" by Saundra Berry Musser and Long Beery, the traditional Shaker melody "Simple Gifts," Aaron Copland's adaptation of "Ching-a-Ring Chaw," "One Small Voice" from Sesame Street by Jeff Moss, and "Wheels of a Dream" from the Broadway musical "Ragtime" by Stephen Flaherty.

The Carson Chamber Singers join forces with the Reno Philharmonic Chorus in two Independence Day concerts with the Reno Philharmonic orchestra under the direction of Jason Altieri. They will perform on July 3 at Bartley Ranch in Reno and on July 4 in Genoa.
