The Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department kicks off the 14th annual GE Energy Family Summer Concert Series at 6:30 p.m. May 28 with Shane Dwight in Minden Park. Northern California native, now Nashville-based, singer-songwriter Shane Dwight plays blues, rock 'n' roll, alternative country and American roots music.
Concerts are 6:30- 8:30 p.m., except for 6-8 p.m. on Aug. 27. Bring a low-backed chair or blanket.
The concerts in the series are free to the community thanks to the Town of Minden, GE Energy, Carson Valley Inn, Dr. James the Dentist, Edgewood Tahoe Golf, Walmart, Park Place AM/PM, Starbucks, Carson Valley Medical Center and Sullivan Law.
The concert series is in need of co-sponsors for Aug. 27, and for print and business card ads, and company mentions. All sponsorship donations go toward costs of the concerts including promotion, talent, sound and staffing.
