It doesn't look like we got any more snow overnight, but the snow we had, at least on the west side, is still there. Chains or snow tires are being required on Sierra highways. Expect that all the rain that fell last night may have converted to ice, so give yourself a little extra time this morning.

Monday's storm brought a 52 mph wind gust at Holbrook Junction and about .06 inches of moisture in the Gardnerville Ranchos. Wind speeds in the Valley hit 37 mph in the Ranchos and 46 mph in Fish Springs. The really fast winds were on the mountain tops. In Mono County a sensor on Mount Warren clocked the wind at 118 mph.

A woman whose house on Hornet in the Gardnerville Ranchos was raided is scheduled to be arraigned in Douglas County District Court this morning. Roxanne Mason, 46, is expected to plead guilty to one count of obtaining controlled substance by fraud. A variety of other burglary and false prescription charges will be dropped. Mason is seeking a drug diversion program.

Genoans are meeting 6:30 p.m. tonight in the town offices. The agenda tonight includes an update on the Cowboy Poetry and Music Festival, action to adopt the final budget and discussion of the Douglas County Volunteer Program policies and procedures.

Douglas County planning commissioners meet 1 p.m. today to discuss modifying the county's windmill ordinance to change the requirements for small and micro wind energy conversions to reduce setbacks and the acreage required. Planning commissioners meet in the Administrative Building, 1616 Eighth St.

School superintendent candidate Heather Henderson-Hill will be down from Canada to interview for the position at 1 p.m. today. School board trustees will meet at Douglas High School. The afternoon begins with a meet and greet. The interview starts at 2 p.m.
