The Carson Valley Community Theatre's production of "Broadway Through The Decades, 100 Years of Broadway Musicals" opens today at the CVIC Hall in Minden.

The program features 29 Broadway show tunes and two dance numbers presented by a cast of 18 Carson Valley performers.

"Broadway Through the Decades" is directed by Norris Edson with musical direction by Carolyn Lancaster and produced by Carol Schwartz.

Music from the earliest Broadway shows - 1904's "Give My Regards to Broadway" to this decade's "Hairspray" - are presented. Songs are from Broadway musicals including "South Pacific," "Gypsy," "Chicago," and "Phantom of the Opera."

The show includes two dance numbers performed by teams from All About Dance, choreographed by Serena Bartholomew.

Performance dates are today, Saturday, Sunday, and May 21-23 at the CVIC Hall in Minden.

Show times are at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Opening night includes a champagne and dessert gala for $20. General admission is $17, students and seniors for $14.

A dinner and show package is $51, or $54 on opening night, offered at Barone & Reed Restaurant, across the street from the theater. A champagne brunch and Sunday matinee show package for $33 is available at Indigo Restaurant in Minden Village.
