The phones have been ringing off the hook at Golden Nugget Automotive as Mike Schiller's friends and acquaintances try to find out more about his condition after he was injured in a Friday night accident in the Johnson Lane area.
"He knows so many people," a spokeswoman said. "People want to know what's happening."
She didn't have any information about Schiller's condition.
He was transported by CareFlight to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno where he was admitted to the intensive care unit.
A deputy who responded to the call said Schiller, 54, had massive head and facial trauma, but was conscious after the accident.
Prior to the 10:20 p.m. Friday accident witnesses said they heard racing up the street and a car shifting gears at a high rate of speed.
One witness estimated the vehicle to be driving 40 mph.
According to the sheriff's office, the witness said the vehicle began to fish tail and ran into a driveway. He said the car spun in the air, he heard two loud noises and then silence.
Schiller was ejected 20 feet from the vehicle, according to reports.
