The Dayton man who threatened to "take care of business" at a Gardnerville bar and who was stopped with a machete in his vehicle headed that way is scheduled to be in Douglas County District Court for sentencing this morning. James A. Preston, 41, pleaded guilty to aggravated stalking in March. He faces up to 15 years in prison.

Newly minted Nevada Republican Party Chairman Mark Amodei will be the moderator at tonight's town hall debate at the CVIC Hall in Minden. The event starts at 6 p.m. and will feature candidates for Assembly District 39 and Douglas County commission.

Alleged Gardnerville drug dealer Cody Neubauer , 30, faces sentencing this morning before District Judge Dave Gamble. Neubauer was arrested Feb.11 after being seen in a Gardnerville store parking lot with several people standing around his window.

The judges got some of their money back from the county on Monday night and funding for the East Fork constable was restored. We'll have more details later today.

The chance for showers has evaporated this morning, and we should have partly sunny skies with a high near 61 degrees. The wind will come up to 5-15 mph in the afternoon. Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies and a low at 35.
