School board trustees voted 6-1 to select Lisa Noonan, chief academic officer of Washoe County Schools, as the new Douglas County school superintendent.

Noonan then received a 7-0 vote of support.

Board member Tom Moore was the lone vote against Noonan, who served as Jacks Valley Elementary vice principal in the early 1990s.

Noonan, who was in Douglas County on Friday, was the last of four candidates to be interviewed by the school board.

Her salary is expected to be around $130,000 a year. More detailed negotiations are now taking place, and board members hope to have a response at their Wednesday meeting.

The school board has been looking for a replacement for Carol Lark, who resigned last fall, since January.
