Bail was set at $200,000 for a former South Lake Tahoe resident charged in connection with an incident last September when he allegedly rammed an officer's car while fleeing arrest on a drug trafficking charge.
Jamaal Mansoor Eslami, 27, is to appear in court Wednesday.
He was arrested on a warrant for drug trafficking, felony eluding and assault with a deadly weapon (vehicle).
On Sept. 21, 2009, Eslami allegedly fled from deputies conducting a sting operation involving methamphetamine sales on Market Street in Stateline. He sped off in his vehicle and ditched approximately 3 ounces of methamphetamine which was recovered by officers.
Eslami reportedly had sold 130 grams of methamphetamine in three separate buys in an undercover sting.
When he realized the fourth buy was a set-up, Eslami fled the scene, according to reports.
He rammed an unmarked police car during his escape causing minor damage to the bumper. The officer inside the vehicle was unharmed.
Eslami was arrested Sept. 23 after an anonymous tip and booked in El Dorado County Jail on South Lake Tahoe on suspicion of methamphetamine trafficking, methamphetamine sales, assaulting a peace officer, and felony reckless driving.
He was arrested by the South Lake Tahoe Police Department on a separate incident of possession of a controlled substance for sales and was found guilty at trial.
He was sentenced in December to two years in prison.
Eslami was extradited last week to Douglas County from California State Prison in Avenal where he has 18 months left on his sentence.
