Only 52 more people are needed to sign up for the Young at Heart Senior Citizens Club to achieve this year's goal of 500 members.
Annie Smutnak will be signing up new recruits through the first week of June at the Douglas County Senior Center. Her efforts helped bring Young at Heart's membership to 372 last year .
Membership is open to anyone age 55 or older and annual dues are $3. Funds raised by Young At Heart are used for projects including gift bags for the holidays, repairs and upkeep at the senior center, fundraising for a new center, and community events throughout the year.
Sign up for Young at Heart, 10 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday, in the gift shop at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville. Information, 783-6455.
